Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Manager/Director to oversee deployment operations and lead a dedicated field team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is critical in establishing operational standards, managing technical assets, and ensuring the successful rollout and scaling of specialized hardware systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to documentation and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and execution of deployment rollouts, including an initial 19-unit wave and future scaling efforts.
Develop and maintain configuration standards, comprehensive documentation, and quality control checklists for hardware systems.
Oversee asset management practices, including tracking serial numbers, warranty details, deployment history, and lifecycle statuses.
Supervise and guide the Senior Deployment Specialist and Tier 1/2 Support Technician to ensure team efficiency and development.
Manage field escalations, including remote access troubleshooting, device connectivity issues, and restart/recovery procedures.
Execute detailed installation procedures, encompassing OS imaging, application installation, device driver configuration, and system setup.
Create and refine support documentation and procedures to facilitate the scaling of operations toward 100 deployed units.
Ensure compliance with technical and operational standards in regulated environments such as healthcare.
Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
Proven experience managing large-scale hardware deployments in field settings.
Proficiency in Linux, including basic system troubleshooting and log analysis.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage small technical teams effectively.
Strong skills in documentation and the development of standard operating procedures.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including static IPs, cellular connectivity, and tunneling concepts.
Familiarity with healthcare or other regulated environments is preferred but not mandatory.
Expertise in Active Directory, backup technologies, and configuration management.
Knowledge of Cisco technologies and computer hardware setup and troubleshooting.
