Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in the Healthcare Payer domain to design and lead scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. This role will focus on building modern data platforms (Data Warehouse & Data Lake) and enabling interoperability aligned with healthcare standards such as HEDIS and FHIR.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect with deep expertise in healthcare data models, interoperability frameworks, and cloud-based data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures supporting healthcare analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for healthcare domains (Claims, Clinical, Member, Provider, EHR).
  • Build and implement interoperability solutions aligned with USCDI / US Core standards.
  • Architect and optimize data warehouses and data lakes for real-time and batch processing.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other healthcare data privacy regulations.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency.
  • Evaluate and recommend data platforms, tools, and integration frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to align architecture with business goals.
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and low latency.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices guidance.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in healthcare data and analytics.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong experience in Healthcare Payer domain.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms: Azure / AWS / Google Cloud Platform.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards:
  • HL7, FHIR, CCD, HIE, USCDI / US Core
  • Strong programming and data processing skills:
  • SQL, NoSQL, Python, PySpark
  • Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin).
  • Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL tools:
  • Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka, Informatica, IBM DataStage
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and big data architectures.
  • Experience implementing data governance and security frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years working with large-scale healthcare data systems.
  • 5+ years designing interoperability solutions.
  • Experience with modern data platforms:
  • Databricks, Snowflake
  • Familiarity with HEDIS measures and reporting.
  • Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
