Microsoft Office 365 Security Consultant

• Seeking an experienced Microsoft Office 365 Security Consultant to serve as the subject matter expert and lead architect for enterprise Microsoft 365 security initiatives.
• The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, implement Zero Trust security strategies, enhance collaboration platform security, and support enterprise-wide data protection and compliance initiatives across multinational environments.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft 365 security ecosystem.
• Experience working in large multinational enterprise environments supporting large user bases.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention, Conditional Access, DRM, and ADRMS.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust security architecture.
• Experience securing Exchange Online, Intune, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams environments.
• Experience configuring and optimizing Conditional Access policies, Identity Protection, tenant restrictions, and external collaboration controls.
• Strong understanding of messaging security, email security, threat response, incident handling, and data governance frameworks.
• Experience implementing security controls for identity, endpoints, applications, and enterprise data protection.
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support capabilities within Microsoft 365 environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Experience:

• Experience managing Microsoft 365 security architecture and operational roadmaps.
• Experience implementing Microsoft Purview, Sensitivity Labels, Encryption, and Digital Rights Management solutions.
• Experience supporting AI security fundamentals, enterprise data protection, and access control initiatives.
• Experience improving phishing protection, threat detection, and automated incident response workflows.
• Experience collaborating with Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance teams.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 security within multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform preferred.
• Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions from a Microsoft 365 security perspective preferred.
• Experience aligning enterprise security controls with compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO, SOC, and GDPR preferred.
• Managerial or team leadership experience supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration teams preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert and architect for Microsoft Office 365 security initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence for Microsoft 365 security platforms including prioritization, design decisions, and phased implementations.
• Manage tenant configurations, policy tuning, feature rollouts, and troubleshooting activities.
• Act as the escalation point for complex Microsoft 365 security issues and architecture decisions.
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across Exchange Online, Intune, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Configure and optimize Conditional Access, Identity Protection, tenant restrictions, and external collaboration controls.
• Drive implementation of Zero Trust security principles across enterprise environments.
• Continuously evaluate and improve security posture based on threats, telemetry, and Microsoft best practices.
• Evaluate emerging Microsoft security technologies and integrate relevant capabilities into security roadmaps.
• Improve email and phishing protection, threat detection, and incident response workflows.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, legal, and privacy teams to implement enforceable security controls.
• Communicate security risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Should Have:

• Microsoft Security certifications such as SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, or SC-400 preferred.
• Experience with enterprise compliance and governance initiatives.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones and multinational environments.
