Summary

Job Title: Product Owner

Location: Toronto, Canada (Hybrid 1 day per week onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Product Owner to join a cross-functional agile delivery team responsible for designing, deploying, automating, optimizing, and maintaining next-generation digital platforms.

This role requires a startup mindset within a growing product environment. The ideal candidate will take ownership of a newly launched product, drive continuous improvements based on user insights, prioritize high-value initiatives, and help scale the product successfully in the market.

As a Product Owner, you will collaborate closely with software development teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure the product delivers maximum value to both internal and external users while remaining scalable, maintainable, and aligned with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define product vision, strategy, and growth opportunities in collaboration with the product team.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that balances business priorities, customer needs, and technical requirements.
  • Define clear MVPs and iterative product improvements.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions, epic sizing, and prioritization activities to maintain high-quality delivery standards.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and align product initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog based on business value and strategic objectives.
  • Drive product release planning and communicate delivery expectations for new features and enhancements.
  • Enable focused and productive Agile sprints by ensuring priorities, user stories, and sprint goals are clearly defined.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital products.
  • Monitor product performance, interpret user feedback, and continuously optimize the product experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Technical Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Product Management and/or Project Management.
  • Hands-on experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of how business requirements translate into technical solutions and product design.
  • Experience delivering software, web, digital, or eCommerce projects within cross-functional and international teams.
  • Excellent organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Self-driven mindset with a proven ability to take ownership and deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building, launching, or scaling products, teams, or business initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Experience taking products from concept to launch and driving post-launch growth and optimization.
  • Ability to make informed decisions with limited information and adapt quickly based on new insights.
  • Experience working in startup environments or leading end-to-end initiatives from inception to delivery.
