Description
Senior Software Engineer - Document Management Platform is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for building the core components of
the enterprise document management platform within the Document Management Modernization program.
This role translates architecture and design into production-grade, scalable software, contributing to ingestion pipelines, AI enrichment, metadata
management, storage, and search capabilities. Working under the Technical Delivery Lead and aligned to the Solution Architect, the Senior Engineer
ensures all components are secure, compliant, resilient, and operational at enterprise scale.
Operating within an Agile delivery model, this role is accountable for delivering high-quality code, supporting sprint commitments, and maintaining
engineering discipline in a regulated environment where auditability and reliability are non-negotiable.
Engineering Delivery & Technical Execution
Design, develop, and deliver production-quality software components across ingestion, enrichment, metadata, storage, search, and API
layers
Translate architecture and design into scalable, maintainable implementations following established patterns and standards
Operate within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and reliable delivery commitments
Write clean, testable, and well-documented code with strong focus on quality, performance, and maintainability
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement practices
Ensure all development aligns with security, compliance, and audit requirements from the outset
Platform Engineering & Component Development
Build and maintain end-to-end document ingestion pipelines including intake APIs, Azure Service Bus integration, asynchronous processing,
retry handling, and audit logging
Implement AI-driven enrichment for classification, extraction, summarization, and entity detection
Develop and enforce metadata validation, data quality checks, and document readiness gates prior to storage acceptance
Implement secure storage and metadata layers, including Azure Blob Storage (tiering, lifecycle, immutability) and Azure SQL with audit logging
and retention logic
Build and maintain search and indexing capabilities
Develop REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, OpenAPI standards, and enterprise integration patterns
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring automated testing, deployment, and release stability
Implement observability, logging, and monitoring to ensure operational reliability and performance visibility
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in enterprise or cloud-native environments
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C# (.NET) for backend, APIs, and pipeline development
Experience building data pipelines, event-driven systems, or document processing platforms
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as Service Bus, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Azure AI Search, Azure
OpenAI, and Azure DevOps
Experience developing REST APIs, integration patterns, and OpenAPI specifications
Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data quality practices
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing
Understanding of security, compliance, and audit requirements, particularly in regulated environments
Experience with AI/ML, LLM integration, or agent-based systems is a strong plus

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
