About the Role
Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Lead Construction Project Manager to oversee complex retrofit and upgrade projects within a fully operational hyperscale data center environment.
This role is critical to ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and with zero disruption to ongoing data center operations.
You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage all phases of project delivery-from planning through execution-while working within the heightened constraints of a live, mission-critical facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage retrofit, expansion, and infrastructure upgrade projects within an active hyperscale data center
  • Ensure zero downtime / zero impact to live operations during construction activities
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies
  • Serve as the primary liaison between owners, operators, contractors, engineers, and vendors
  • Oversee general contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Coordinate construction work around critical IT loads, MEP systems, and redundancy requirements
  • Implement and enforce strict change management, permitting, and method of procedure (MOP) processes
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with working in live environments
  • Conduct regular site walks, progress meetings, and reporting to executive leadership
  • Ensure compliance with mission-critical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and operational efficiency

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least:
    • 3+ years in data center or mission-critical environments
    • Proven experience managing retrofit or brownfield projects
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects in live/operational facilities
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Electrical and mechanical (MEP) systems
    • Redundancy (N+1, 2N) and uptime requirements
    • Critical infrastructure sequencing
  • Experience managing large-scale projects ($10M+)
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hyperscale data center environments
  • PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification
  • Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards
  • Experience with commissioning and turnover processes

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
