Role : Technical Project Manager - Cloud Data Migration (Google Cloud Platform)

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Project Leadership & Execution: Develop, maintain, and execute the end-to-end project plan, including defining project scope, milestones, timelines, and key deliverables for the data migration initiative.
Agile/Scrum Facilitation: Champion and manage the project using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
Act as the Scrum Master, facilitating all sprint ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
Onshore/Offshore Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between onshore and offshore technical teams. Masterfully manage communication across different time zones, ensuring seamless collaboration, clear task allocation, and a unified team culture. Stakeholder Management & Communication: Proactively communicate project status, risks, and progress to all levels of the organization, from technical teams to executive leadership. Translate technical updates into clear business context for non-technical stakeholders.
Risk & Dependency Management: Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, impediments, and cross-functional dependencies. Proactively clear blockers for the engineering team to ensure continuous productivity.
Backlog & Resource Management: Partner with Product Owners and technical leads to manage the project backlog in Jira (or a similar tool). Ensure resources are allocated effectively to meet sprint goals and project milestones.
Process Improvement: Continuously refine and improve project management processes to increase team velocity, predictability, and overall efficiency.
Quality & Delivery Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and that the project remains on track to achieve its strategic objectives. Skill & Experience Requirements This section details the specific qualifications we are looking for. We need a leader who is an expert in project management methodologies and a Master of Communication in a distributed team environment. Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
Professional Project Management Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale technical projects from initiation to completion. Onshore/Offshore Leadership: Demonstrable, hands-on experience managing projects with globally distributed teams, including significant onshore and offshore components. Must be adept at overcoming communication and time-zone challenges.
Agile & Scrum Mastery: Deep expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Proven ability to act as a Scrum Master, leading Agile ceremonies and managing backlogs effectively.
Technical Acumen: A strong foundational understanding of the data and analytics domain. Must be comfortable discussing concepts like data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data migration, and cloud computing with technical teams.
Exceptional Communication Skills: World-class verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to distill complex technical information into clear, concise updates for diverse audiences.
Project Management Tooling: High proficiency with Agile project management software such as Jira, Confluence. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
Cloud Migration Experience: Prior experience managing a cloud migration project, especially a data-centric migration to a major cloud provider (Google Cloud Platform is a strong plus).
Data Project Background: Specific experience managing projects in data warehousing, business intelligence, or big data environments.
Formal Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or a recognized Agile/Scrum certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMP-ACP) are highly desirable. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform Concepts: A basic understanding of what Google Cloud Platform is and the role of key services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataproc.
Risk Management: Formal experience in creating and managing risk registers and mitigation plans.
