Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Rhapsody Integration Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare interoperability solutions that enable secure and reliable data exchange between clinical applications, Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and third-party healthcare platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Rhapsody Integration Engine, HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, SQL databases, and healthcare integration standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain healthcare integration solutions using Rhapsody Integration Engine.
  • Build and support HL7 v2 and FHIR-based integration workflows.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for healthcare applications.
  • Integrate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms.
  • Analyze clinical and operational workflows and translate them into technical integration solutions.
  • Parse, transform, and validate HL7, XML, and JSON messages.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and business teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize existing interfaces for performance and reliability.
  • Ensure healthcare data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create technical documentation, interface specifications, and deployment documentation.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine.
  • Experience developing healthcare integrations using HL7 v2 and FHIR.
  • Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with JSON, XML, and HL7 message parsing.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and integration methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
  • Understanding of healthcare terminologies including SNOMED CT, LOINC, and ICD-10.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of FHIR resources and implementation guides.
  • Experience with FHIR servers such as HAPI FHIR, Firely, or cloud-based FHIR platforms.
  • Experience integrating with Epic, Cerner, or other major EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare messaging, interface engines, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in healthcare, public health, or clinical environments.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy regulations.
  • Experience supporting Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR), Electronic Case Reporting (eCR), or Master Patient Index (MPI) solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-based healthcare integration platforms.
