Description:

The North Carolina Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Information Technology Division (ITD) are seeking an ADA Accessibility Analyst.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accessibility testing on websites, web applications, and digital documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Evaluate compliance with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA standards.
Use manual and automated testing tools, including assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, ZoomText, NVDA).
Document findings and provide clear, actionable remediation guidance.
Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to resolve accessibility issues.
Assist with code-level remediation of accessibility defects when applicable.
Remediate and convert digital documents into accessible formats.
Promote accessibility best practices and support integration of accessibility into the software development lifecycle.
Maintain documentation and compliance reports.
Stay current with evolving accessibility laws, standards, and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Three (3) or more years of experience in digital accessibility testing and remediation.
Demonstrated experience working with WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 standards.
Experience testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS, ZoomText, or NVDA.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript sufficient to support accessibility remediation efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification such as CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies) or WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist).
Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
Experience remediating PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, or Accessibility Insights.
