We are seeking an experienced
Lead Low Voltage / Voice & Data Cable Technician to support large-scale commercial construction projects in the Nashville area, including a major downtown stadium project. This role focuses primarily on new construction environments and requires hands-on installation expertise, the ability to read and execute from blueprints, and on-site leadership of small teams.
The Lead Technician may work independently or oversee helpers depending on project scope and will interface directly with customers and site leadership while ensuring high-quality installations and safety compliance.
Primary Responsibilities- Install structured Voice/Data cabling systems in commercial construction environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
- Install and support cable infrastructure including:
- Cable pathways, trays, J-hooks, and supports
- Category 6 and above copper cabling
- Fiber optic cabling
- Faceplates, jacks, and terminations
- Lead and coordinate on-site helpers as assigned
- Address jobsite issues as they arise and work with minimal supervision
- Communicate daily progress updates to project leads and site contacts
- Interface professionally with customers, general contractors, and other trades
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site
Required Qualifications- Extensive hands-on experience installing Voice/Data cabling systems
- Ability to read construction drawings and run jobs independently
- Prior experience leading or supervising helpers on commercial sites
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers professionally
- Familiarity with construction tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated work style
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Experience in low voltage systems, structured cabling, or related electrical work
- Experience installing additional low voltage systems such as:
- Prior work on large commercial or stadium-scale construction projects
Work Environment & Schedule- New-construction commercial job sites
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- PPE required (pants, sleeved shirt, and appropriate safety gear)
- Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:30 AM - 3:30/4:00 PM
- (Hours may vary based on site requirements)
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
