A leading advanced manufacturing and engineering organization is seeking a Security Analyst to help strengthen and mature its enterprise cybersecurity program. Role Summary

The Security Analyst will play a critical role in protecting enterprise systems, data, and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. This position is responsible for monitoring, managing, and enhancing Microsoft security technologies while leading incident detection, response, threat hunting, and vulnerability management efforts. The role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on the organization's security posture while collaborating with technical and business teams across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security alerts, logs, dashboards, and telemetry across Microsoft security platforms to identify and respond to potential threats.
  • Manage, configure, and optimize Microsoft Defender security controls across enterprise environments.
  • Administer and enhance data protection and compliance capabilities using Microsoft Purview, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and eDiscovery solutions.
  • Develop, tune, and maintain custom detection rules, analytics, and alerting mechanisms to improve threat visibility.
  • Serve as a primary responder for cybersecurity incidents involving malware, ransomware, endpoint compromises, and related threats.
  • Conduct forensic investigations, root cause analyses, and post-incident reviews to strengthen security controls and reduce future risk.
  • Perform proactive threat hunting activities utilizing Microsoft Defender XDR and other security monitoring tools.
  • Analyze threat intelligence and emerging attack trends to identify risks relevant to the organization.
  • Track, prioritize, and support remediation efforts for software vulnerabilities and security weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to implement security best practices, hardening standards, and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to incident response, platform effectiveness, vulnerabilities, and overall security posture.
  • Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives and help promote a culture of security across the organization.

Additional Details
  • Work model: Primarily remote with occasional in-person collaboration as needed
  • Up to 10% domestic travel may be required
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to security strategy, operations, and continuous improvement initiatives


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing and utilizing Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Strong experience in threat detection, incident response, security monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security controls, SIEM technologies, and security operations best practices.
  • Experience conducting forensic investigations, malware analysis, and security incident remediation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Eligibility to work in compliance with applicable U.S. government technology export control requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Microsoft security certifications such as SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, or SC-400.
  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, SecurityX, or equivalent cybersecurity certifications.
  • GIAC certifications such as GSEC IH.
  • Experience supporting organizations operating within regulated government contracting environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 GCC High environments.
  • Experience with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms and compliance tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory compliance requirements, and security auditing practices.
  • Experience developing and improving enterprise security processes, detection capabilities, and operational workflows.
