Job Title: Senior Business Analyst / Data Analyst Location: Mclean, VA (Fully Onsite) Duration: 06+ Months Contract Job id - 177665 Position focused on building reporting and data solutions on a centralized data platform; primary tools: Snowflake, SQL, Python, Power BI.
Candidates must be hands-on in Power BI to build dashboards and able to translate business reporting requirements into technical outputs.
Typical tasks: replicate existing Excel/graph requirements in Power BI, build new dashboards from scratch, write queries/ETL logic to load data into Snowflake when needed.
Mortgage-specific experience is not required; financial institution background is helpful but the role is execution-oriented with business requirements provided.
Expectation: ability to work with raw data and develop automated dashboards leveraging the new centralized Snowflake data structure.
Project scope & technical stack Project goal: centralize reporting data into Snowflake and use Power BI as the main visualization/reporting tool to automate reporting across daily and monthly reports and senior management forums.
The internal forecasting engine is proprietary (Java) and outputs are stored in Snowflake; the team is moving away from Hyperion into Snowflake.
Development work will include some SQL (pre-SQL), Python, and occasional integration code to connect with the Java engine; the team aims to keep the stack simple and not adopt many additional tools.
Must Have Qualifications: Strong experience with Snowflake, SQL, and Python for data querying, reporting and building data solutions. Hands-on Power BI skills for dashboarding and visualization, with the ability to translate business reporting requirements into technical outputs. Background in finance is preferred.

Can use Power BI and automated tools.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2 - 4 years of experience?in product /business analysis, product operations, or a related role supporting technology delivery.
Proficient with Atlassian software suite (Jira, Confluence) or similar agile management tools.
Experience working with agile delivery teams (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and supporting backlog refinement, business process documentation and requirements management.
Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills; able to use data and stakeholder input to inform recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to facilitate working sessions and document outcomes clearly.
Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments with flexibility to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
Experience in the broader financial services industry is required.>
