IES Application Architect Support Specialist (Project Coordinator) ref# 11277

Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.

Under the direction of a senior IES manager, the IES Application Architect Support Specialist will be assigned to the Integrated Eligibility System (IES) within the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) and will perform a hands-on, expert-level role responsible for ensuring the operational excellence of critical production systems. This position will be less about managing project timelines and resources, and more about creating innovative solutions to improve a mission critical service. The incumbent will drive automation, optimize performance, and lead incident response from a technical standpoint. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
SRE and Systems: Apply SRE principles to manage the reliability and scalability of enterprise-level systems including cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure), microservices, containers (Kubernetes).
Automation and Tooling: Write and implement code (e.g., Python) and leverage automation tools to eliminate manual toil, and create scalable, self-healing systems. Build and maintain internal tools that enhance infrastructure and operations.
Observability and Analysis: Implement robust monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing systems (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK Stack). Analyze system metrics to proactively identify issues and drive data-backed technical decisions for performance tuning and capacity planning.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Seven (7) years of experience in Information Technology with significant time spent in a senior-level SRE or similar role including running and operating DevSecOps tooling and processes for a state government program with expertise in Deep SRE and Systems: including cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure), microservices, containers (Kubernetes), Automation and Tooling: With experience writing and implementing code (e.g., Python) and leveraging automation tools.

The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience
Master's degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience
Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis.
