Location: Endicott, NY 13761
Shift: Monday-Friday | Standard Business Hours
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Direct Hire Based on Performance)
About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with experience in manufacturing operations, process documentation, and technical writing to support production and continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on developing and maintaining manufacturing work instructions, standardizing procedures, and improving production efficiency through Lean manufacturing principles.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and production by translating manufacturing processes into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation while supporting operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, update, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Convert existing manufacturing procedures into a new documentation system.
  • Develop detailed assembly, disassembly, soldering, component installation/removal, and rework instructions.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate and effective.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements based on Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and operator effectiveness.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, process flows, and technical requirements to create visual and written work instructions.
  • Assist with process planning and sequencing of manufacturing operations.
  • Support compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
  • Participate in audits and ensure documentation remains current and compliant.
  • Provide feedback to engineering and design teams to improve manufacturability and production processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Experience creating work instructions, SOPs, process documentation, or manufacturing procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electronics, electrical, electromechanical, or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes, soldering, component installation/removal, and production operations.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Kaizen methodologies.
  • Experience using CAD software, engineering drawings, or visual work instruction tools.
  • Technical Certificate, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering disciplines.
