Position Description

What to Expect

HVAC and Plumbing System Design

    • Design Commercial Building Systems design per Model Building Codes including International Energy Code
    • Develop and modeling building loads in Trace 3D software
    • Develop Plans and Specifications
    • Sizing and specify proper HVAC and plumbing systems
    • Defining and developing HVAC and Plumbing cost estimates
    • Working directly with suppliers and installers to obtain quoted pricing for optimal HVAC and Plumbing systems

Electrical System Design

    • Design Commercial Building Systems design per Model Building Codes including Energy Code
    • Develop and modeling building loads, equipment loads, and special demands
    • Develop Plans and Specifications
    • Sizing and specify proper Electrical systems
    • Defining and developing Electrical cost estimates
    • Special Electrical design and requirements for new machines and equipment to be utilized in future expansion
    • Working directly with suppliers and installers to obtain quoted pricing for optimal Electrical systems

General

    • Design mechanical and electrical systems for delegated engineering items for and within building construction projects
    • Work directly with and under the guidance of a Senior Mechanical / Electrical Design Engineer.
    • Collaborate with a team under the guidance of a Licensed Professional Engineer

Position Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
  • Effective Collaborative and Communication Skills
  • Attention to detail in calculations and drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Engaged and Self-motivated to take on tasks and responsibilities

Preferred

  • Passed FE Exam
  • Knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
  • Knowledge of current building codes and regulations
  • Experience in Building Design and Construction Industry
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Trace 3D, Tekla Structures, and Bluebeam
