Job Details:
We are partnering with a well-established, growth-focused manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Engineer to support product and process quality across operations. This role will play a key part in maintaining high standards, resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to improve product reliability, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, procedures, and standards
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality requirements
- Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for quality compliance
- Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits
- Analyze quality data, track trends, and report on defects, scrap, and process performance
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Create and maintain quality documentation (control plans, inspection procedures, work instructions)
- Oversee regulatory and environmental compliance reporting (including air, chemical, and wastewater programs)
- Manage internal calibration systems to meet third-party audit requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF, or similar standards
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable supporting multiple shifts or production schedules as needed
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality-related software systems
Preferred:
- CQE or similar certification
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
- Familiarity with SPC, PPAP, APQP, and MSA methodologies
- Background in industrial or high-volume manufacturing environments
