POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Manager leads a Salesforce and/or MuleSoft platform product area and is accountable for engineering delivery, production operations, and technical health. The role balances roadmap execution with platform reliability, security, integration quality, release discipline, technical debt, licensing, capacity, and vendor dependencies. The Engineering Manager works closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Data, QA, Support, business stakeholders, and system owners to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Team Leadership• Lead Agile/SCRUM practices for the Salesforce and MuleSoft engineering team, facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD practices by reinforcing Agile delivery disciplines, improving release quality, and reducing cycle times.
• Oversee a test-driven development approach to software development.
Product & Roadmap Partnership
• Partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, and business stakeholders to define the technology roadmap and align engineering efforts with strategic business objectives.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business needs into executable delivery plans and ensure engineering capacity aligns with roadmap priorities.
• Balance roadmap priorities with upgrades, platform limits, technical debt, production health, team capacity, and cross-system dependencies.
• Own execution across applications, Salesforce org capabilities, APIs, integrations, runtime services, environments, and vendor dependencies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
• Work collaboratively across product, engineering, architecture, operations, and business teams to successfully deliver cross-functional initiatives and enterprise programs.
• Manage dependencies across teams and drive alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide clear and concise status updates to leadership and business stakeholders, communicating progress, risks, dependencies, milestones, and delivery outcomes.
Engineering Delivery and Operations
• Ensure release readiness through peer review, automated testing, observability, rollback planning, change controls, and support coverage.
• Ensure recurring incidents, defects, capacity constraints, and platform limits are understood, prioritized, and addressed.
• Use delivery, quality, reliability, and flow metrics to improve product and platform outcomes.
• Utilize engineering metrics to improve quality, cycle time, and delivery.
• Lead production support and escalations with clear communication to stakeholders.
Preferred Platform Experience
• Salesforce engineering or delivery experience involving configuration, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, data modeling, sharing/security, integrations, environments, governor limits, and release management.
• MuleSoft Anypoint Platform experience involving API-led connectivity, System/Process/Experience APIs, reusable assets, policies, runtime operations, CloudHub, monitoring, error handling, and CI/CD.
• Experience managing enterprise SaaS licensing, vendor delivery, managed services, platform capacity, or major modernization initiatives.
• Experience operating platforms that support regulated, high-volume, or business-critical processes.
The projected hourly range for this position is $65 to $70.
