About this PositionThe Strategic Vendor Management (SVM) Analytics & Reporting Intern will support the Strategic Vendor Management team by gathering, organizing, and validating supplier and contract data needed to build new dashboards in Power BI. The intern will help develop supplier profile pages in Confluence, assist with tracking SVM projects, and maintain follow-up on key actions and tasks across the team. This role will work closely with the SVM team, Finance, Technology, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, consistent reporting and support meaningful insights that inform vendor strategy. The internship provides hands-on experience in analytics, data operations, project coordination, and enterprise reporting, aligned with Primerica's internship learning objectives.
Salary range is $18-$22 per hour, depending on the student's undergraduate level. Salary ranges for graduate students may vary.
Responsibilities & QualificationsData Gathering & Supplier Insights (Primary Duties):
- Collect, clean, and compile supplier, contract, spend, and risk-related data from multiple systems and stakeholders (SVM, Legal, Finance, IT).
- Validate and normalize supplier names, contract metadata, renewal dates, and business ownership fields to support Power BI dashboards.
- Assist in maintaining supplier datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment across business units.
Power BI Dashboard Support:
- Support development of new Power BI dashboards by preparing structured datasets and documenting data rules/transformations.
- -Conduct data quality checks and identify gaps or inconsistencies that could impact reporting.
- -Help mock up new dashboard pages and test visual layouts for clarity and usability.
Supplier Profile Development (Confluence):
- Build and update supplier profile pages including spend trends, contract summaries, SLA/risk indicators, renewal strategy, and ownership details.
- Ensure supplier pages remain up to date and clearly organized for executive and stakeholder consumption.
Project Coordination & Tracking:
- Track SVM action items, deliverables, and follow-ups using Planner, Teams, and other collaboration tools.
- Update project trackers and support coordination across Finance, Technology, Vendor Management, and Legal.
- Assist in documenting processes, decisions, meeting notes, and version histories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- -Participate in team discussions, stakeholder meetings, and problem-solving sessions.
- -Provide analytical and documentation support to SVM leads as needed throughout the internship program.
Minimum Qualifications:- Actively pursuing a 2-year, 4-year, or graduate degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Basic analytical skills with the ability to interpret business information and structured data.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Teams, SharePoint); willingness to learn Power BI.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to ask clarifying questions and document findings.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive, and collaborate within a project-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with or studying Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Coursework or exposure to data analytics, databases, or reporting concepts.
- Understanding of vendor management, procurement, finance, or business operations.
- Experience building documentation, dashboards, or knowledge articles (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with project coordination tools (Planner, Lists, Power Automate, Asana, Trello, Teams tasks).
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Experience with Excel functions such as lookups, filtering, pivot tables, or data cleanup tasks.
