Job Title: Microsoft Technologist/Architect
Location: Durham, NC - Hybrid Role



The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Microsoft Technologist/Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft technologies including Copilot AI solutions, Microsoft Office 365, and Power Platform. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and analyze our internal solutions, and develop strategic approaches for optimal integration and utilization of these technologies within the organization.

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on Microsoft AI technologies, Office 365, and Power Platform, providing guidance and leadership on their use, integration, and optimization.
  • Evaluate, learn, and document existing internal solutions, mapping their capabilities and requirements to the broader Microsoft landscape.
  • Develop and implement strategies for integrating internal solutions with Microsoft technologies, ensuring seamless interoperability, scalability, and security.
  • Define integration patterns and reference architectures across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, and internal systems using Microsoft Graph API, connectors, and secure API management practices.
  • Partner with security teams to design identity and access models (Entra ID/Azure AD, OAuth, delegated/application permissions, conditional access) for integrations and automation.
  • Establish governance and lifecycle management for Copilot and Power Platform solutions, including environment strategy, DLP policies, solution packaging, deployment pipelines, and change control.
  • Define operational standards for integrated solutions (telemetry, audit logging, monitoring/alerting, reliability targets, and performance/cost optimization) and guide teams through production readiness.
  • Guide information architecture and governance for M365 content and Copilot readiness (data classification, sensitivity labels, retention, eDiscovery, and Purview-aligned controls) to ensure secure and compliant usage.
  • Advise stakeholders and project teams on best practices for leveraging Microsoft Copilot, Office 365, and Power Platform to drive business value and efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging Microsoft technologies, trends, and updates, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT, business units, and leadership to align technology strategy with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Design and oversee the architecture of integrated solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Provide training and mentorship to internal teams on Microsoft technologies and integration strategies.

The Expertise and Skills you Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft AI technologies, including Copilot, Azure AI, and related services.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including administration, customization, and integration.
  • Strong expertise in Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and solution architecture.
  • Hands on experience with cloud and hybrid environments, particularly Azure.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and analyze complex internal systems and processes.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing technology integration strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft security and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation in the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Certification in Microsoft technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer).
