Location: Remote (U.S. Time Zones Preferred)
Duration: 6 Months (Potential Extension)
Overview
We are seeking a highly capable SharePoint Developer to support the design and
implementation of a centralized content management solution for a large-scale operations
environment.
This role goes beyond standard SharePoint site development. The focus is on building a
governed, scalable, and structured platform that enables consistent document management,
workflow automation, and secure access across distributed teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in SharePoint Online, Power Platform,
and enterprise content governance, with the ability to translate structured requirements into
practical, usable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
β Design and implement structured SharePoint Online solutions, including:
β Document libraries, site architecture, and navigation
β Metadata models and taxonomy for content classification
β Build and configure workflow automation using Power Automate:
β Approval workflows
β Lifecycle and recertification processes
β Notification and escalation mechanisms
β Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and permission models:
β Secure internal vs external (customer-facing) content
β Ensure proper isolation and governance of content
β Develop and enforce document governance standards:
β Version control, approval enforcement, and audit readiness
β Configure search and discoverability features using metadata-driven approaches
β Support integration and referencing of external systems (e.g., construction tools,
document repositories)
β Collaborate with stakeholders to iteratively refine and validate functionality
β Produce clear technical documentation to support maintainability and scalability
Required Experience
β 5+ years of experience with SharePoint Online (Modern Experience)
β Strong experience with:
β SharePoint site architecture and library design
β Metadata, content types, and taxonomy design
β Permissions and access control strategies
β Hands-on experience with Power Automate (complex workflows, approvals, lifecycle
automation)
β Experience building enterprise content/document management solutions
β Solid understanding of:
β Versioning and document lifecycle management
β Governance frameworks and compliance considerations
β Experience working in structured, requirement-driven environments (e.g., FRDs, MVP
builds)
Preferred / Differentiators
β Experience with large-scale document environments (thousands of documents, multi-
site structures)
β Familiarity with integrations or references to platforms such as:
β Procore, Autodesk, or similar systems (not required, but valuable)
β Exposure to API-based integrations or cross-platform content linking
β Experience supporting operations, engineering, or compliance-driven environments
β Ability to balance technical implementation with usability for frontline/end users
What Success Looks Like
β A well-structured, scalable SharePoint environment that serves as a single source of
truth
β Clean implementation of workflows, approvals, and governance controls
β Strong alignment between technical delivery and operational usability
β Minimal administrative overhead through automation and smart design
Additional Notes
β This is a hands-on execution role, not purely administrative or support-focused
β The environment is fast-moving and requires the ability to deliver iteratively
β Strong communication and ownership are critical — this role will work closely with
stakeholders to shape and refine the solution
