Job Summary

We are seeking a Platform Engineer with strong Python development experience to support a Cloud and Data Platform initiative. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and deploying scalable applications on Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS, with expertise in data platforms, cloud-native development, and modern deployment technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

This role will involve designing, implementing, and supporting data and AI platform solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions across cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform and AWS).
Build cloud-native applications using serverless architectures and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Develop and maintain Python-based applications and services supporting data and AI platforms.
Design and implement REST APIs and microservices.
Support data pipelines, AI inference pipelines, and data platform components.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud-based data workflows and infrastructure.
Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
Document software components, architecture, and operational procedures.
Follow best practices in software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

Required Skills

6+ years of software development experience across the full SDLC.
Strong Python programming experience.
Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS).
Strong understanding of data warehouse and data lake architectures.
Experience with API design and development (REST APIs).
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
Experience with Git or Azure DevOps (ADO) version control.
Understanding of cloud scalability, performance optimization, and monitoring.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
