Our client is seeking a POS Test Lead / QA in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

POS testing, Retail Testing, End to End Testing
Test Lead capabilities, Agile, Automation Testing
Test Management tools
Azure and DB Testing
We are looking for a QA with hands-on experience in Point of Sale (POS) testing to ensure reliable, secure, and seamless retail/restaurant transactions.
The role involves leading End to end testing team, validating POS functionality, integrations, and performance across hardware, software, and payment systems
Collaborate with developers, TPMs, Testers and systems analysts for test requirements gathering, test planning and test execution activities throughout the SDLC
Monitor E2E application Test Case Design and Test Execution
Participate in test case reviews with Product Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Defect management, track defects to closure
Test status tracking and reporting
Support software quality assurance and quality control activities for NGPOS releases
Publish Test Summary Result and Reports
Backup for deploying production client builds through App Center/Code push
Participating in Defect Triage Process
When applicable assist midnight validations at product launches?
Develop and execute End to end test plans, test cases, and test scripts for POS systems.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of POS applications.
Test POS hardware and peripherals (printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, payment terminals, etc.).
Validate integrations with payment gateways, inventory systems, loyalty/rewards, and back-office applications.
Conduct end-to-end transaction testing (cash, credit/debit, mobile wallets, discounts, returns, voids, etc.).
Log defects, track resolution, and perform retesting.
Support automation of POS test scenarios where applicable.
Ensure testing aligns with compliance standards
Provide detailed test reports and recommend improvements.

Skills & Requirements

10+ years of experience in manual or automation testing of POS or retail applications.
Knowledge of POS solutions (e.g., NCR, Oracle Micros, etc).
Strong understanding of retail/restaurant transaction flows.
Familiarity with testing peripherals, network connectivity, and offline/online modes.
Experience with Test/defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Test rail).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with test automation frameworks.
Exposure to API testing for POS integrations.
Familiarity with databases (SQL queries for backend validation)
