Description Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business & Data Analyst to support business analysis and data analytics initiatives across one or more projects. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to analyze business processes, define requirements, perform data analysis, and support data-driven decision making.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into clear technical and data requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, and requirements
- Analyze current business operations to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or enhancement
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and recommend practical, data-driven solutions
- Gather, refine, validate, and document complex business requirements, dependencies, risks, and issues
- Translate high-level requirements into detailed functional requirements, technical specifications, and user stories
- Ensure requirements are clear, concise, and aligned with overall business goals
rData Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, clean, and analyze data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights
- Conduct data profiling on new data domains to support analytics and ETL development
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, reports, and KPIs
- Translate business reporting needs into technical requirements for dashboards and analytics solutions
- Interpret and communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
dCross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with developers, designers, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate requirement implementation
- Support the team lead with business and data analysis across assigned projects
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
- Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) activities related to data migration and validation
- Assist with UAT, data quality validation, and post-deployment verification
- Present findings, insights, and project updates to stakeholders at varying technical levels
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation including:
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Process maps
- Workflow diagrams
- Monitor data quality issues and support resolution of discrepancies between source systems and curated dashboards
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending tools, processes, and best practices for business analysis and data analytics
Requirements Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 2-3 years of technical, analytical, or business experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as:
- Excel
- SQL
- Power BI
- Basic understanding of database concepts and data modeling
- Experience with testing and validating data flows between source and target systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with programming or analytics tools such as:
- Python
- R
- SAS
- COBOL
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Understanding of project management concepts and lifecycle
