Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $18.16/hour-$21.94/hour

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: 2-year technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, or a related field. Equivalent experience with a drafting certificate may be considered.

Description

The Drafting/CAD Technician I will support drawing management, technical documentation, and design activities for manufacturing and engineering operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate and organized technical drawings, developing and updating drawing packages, and collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams on equipment and process improvement projects.

The ideal candidate will have formal CAD training, strong attention to detail, and an interest in hands-on technical design work. This position is best suited for candidates with a dedicated CAD/drafting background, such as a 2-year technical degree or drafting certificate.

Responsibilities
Maintain and coordinate technical drawings and related documentation.
Ensure drawings are accurate, organized, current, and readily accessible.
Create, revise, and maintain detailed technical and manufacturing drawings.
Develop drawing packages and supporting project documentation.
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to develop equipment designs.
Support cost-reduction and continuous improvement projects through technical design work.
Assist engineering and maintenance teams with equipment troubleshooting by reviewing and interpreting technical drawings.
Ensure project documentation, including drawings, spare parts information, procedures, and schedules, is complete and accurate.
Apply drafting and CAD skills to support equipment and manufacturing improvements.
Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy in all technical documentation.

Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Ability to create detailed drawing packages and update manufacturing drawings.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Strong problem-solving and technical design skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Self-motivated with a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong technical curiosity and ability to identify practical design solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications
At least 2 years of relevant drafting, CAD, or technical experience.
SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD experience.
Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing standards.
Ability to develop, modify, and maintain manufacturing drawings.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
No travel is required.
Standard 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, remote.

Preferred Skills
Experience with AutoCAD.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems; hands-on experience is a plus.
Advanced computer skills.
Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar drawing/document management systems.
