Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $85,000-$90,000 (conversion salary)
OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to support a large-scale federal program focused on application development and requirements management. This role will serve as a critical liaison between stakeholders and development teams, translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret detailed business requirements from multiple stakeholder groups (up to 10+ agencies)
- Review large-scale requirement documents (often 50+ pages) and break them down into structured, developer-ready specifications
- Collaborate closely with software developers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and accurately implemented
- Produce high-quality documentation in Microsoft Word, including functional specifications and supporting materials
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Evaluate scenarios and provide thoughtful analysis during discussions and decision-making processes
Required Qualifications- 2-3 years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information
- Experience working directly with software development teams
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting federal or government-related projects
- Ability to manage and synthesize input from multiple stakeholders
- Comfort working in fast-paced, requirements-heavy environments
Additional Information- This is not a financial analyst or administrative/note-taking role-candidates must have hands-on experience performing true analytical work
- Candidates should be prepared to discuss scenario-based ("what-if") questions during the interview process
- Writing samples or demonstrated experience with documentation may be evaluated
