Job Title: Scrum Master (Life Insurance or Annuities is needed)
Location: Remote
Duration: [6 months - Contract]

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in Agile methodologies and hands-on experience in the Life Insurance and/or Annuities domain. The ideal candidate will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove team impediments, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to deliver high-quality insurance solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of IT experience with 3+ years as a Scrum Master.
  • Strong experience working in Life Insurance, Annuities, Retirement, or Financial Services projects.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience managing Agile teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile tools.
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
  • Coach Agile teams and stakeholders on Scrum principles and Agile best practices.
  • Partner with Product Owners to manage and prioritize product backlogs.
  • Remove impediments and resolve issues impacting team delivery.
  • Monitor sprint progress, velocity, burndown metrics, and overall team performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and quality.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Developers, QA, Architects, and Release Managers.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects related to Life Insurance and Annuity products.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Support release planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Promote transparency and accountability within Agile teams.
Life Insurance / Annuities Domain Experience
  • Experience working with Life Insurance products such as Term Life, Whole Life, Universal Life, and Variable Life policies.
  • Knowledge of Annuity products including Fixed, Variable, Indexed, and Deferred Annuities.
  • Familiarity with Policy Administration Systems, Claims Processing, Underwriting, Billing, and Customer Servicing.
  • Understanding of insurance regulatory compliance and industry standards.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within insurance organizations.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in SAFe Agile environments.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire, Vantage, CyberLife, FAST, ALIP, or other insurance platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing distributed and offshore teams.
