Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced IBM z/OS Storage Consultant to support and manage enterprise-level mainframe storage environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in z/OS storage architecture, along with strong hands-on experience in DFSMS and related IBM and ISV tools.

This role involves maintaining high-performance storage systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring reliability across critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain z/OS storage environments

• Manage and support DASD, SAN, and Virtual Tape Systems (VTS)

• Administer and optimize the DFSMS suite

• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning

• Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues in a timely manner

• Support installation and maintenance of z/OS program products

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability

• Create and maintain technical documentation

Required Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in z/OS storage administration

• Strong knowledge of mainframe storage concepts and architecture

• Experience with:

  • DASD, SAN, and Virtual Tape Systems (VTS)

  • DFSMS suite

  • IBM storage utilities and ISV tools

• Proven troubleshooting and performance optimization skills

• Experience installing and maintaining z/OS-related program products
