Job Title: Network Refresh / Deployment Engineer (ONSITE)
Work Location: Nashville, TN - Onsite/ Hybrid at sites throughout the area
Position Type: 6 Months Contract (W2)
ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a mid-level Network Engineer for a contract position with one of our Healthcare Clients in Nashville. Please note - this is an onsite / hybrid role that will require being onsite to deploy and set-up new network switches and firewalls at locations throughout Nashville.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in migrating tech debt by replacing old hardware with new equipment - primarily Cisco Switches and Palo Alto Firewalls
- Log into existing devices to pull configurations for migration to new hardware.
- Perform basic configuration of Cisco Catalyst switches and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Perform physical rack and stack of new network equipment at clinic and hospital sites across Nashville
- Assisting with physical cabling and cleanup of IDFs/network closets.
- Updating network documentation
- Ensuring new devices are added to and configured for monitoring with SolarWinds and Netbrain
- Coordinating with the lead engineer on deployment schedules.
- Occasionally, working flexible hours, including overnights and weekends, to accommodate clinic maintenance windows (usually starting at 10 PM).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years professional experience (this is a Mid-level role)
- CCNA level preferred
- Proven experience with Technical Refreshes on switches and firewalls
- Foundational knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls (PCNSA level preferred)
- Ability to perform physical labor (racking, stacking, cabling).
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours (nights/weekends) for implementation phases.
- Must be local to or able to commute daily to the Nashville/Franklin area.
