Our healthcare client is comprised of 4 major hospitals, over 200 clinics, the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, the Private Diagnostic Clinics and the NUS Medical School in Singapore. They also support a Clinical Research Institute.
The client's Technology Solutions organization provides IT support for all their health entities. They own all of IT for the organization including managing data centers, all operations, etc. The Technology Solutions group is made up of roughly 1k employees, acting as the MSP for the broader organization.
From an infrastructure perspective, it is set up in a traditional plan, build, run function - with the Service Delivery group acting as engineering, implementation and a 3rd level of escalations. They are seeking a strong route/switch engineer to focus within datacenter, wireless, and core route switch technologies. The team consists of 12 Analyst (Engineers) 2 of which will be onsite in Charlotte at Lake Norman Hospital all with specializations and help each other when issues arise.
This person must have experience working with core route/switch technologies - they'll spend the majority of their time working within layer 2, layer 3 troubleshooting and working on projects. Experience with spanning tree loops and DNVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN).
Duke Health has Nexus 2k, 5k, 6k, 7k, 9k in the environment so exposure to NxOs is key. This individual must be able to create their own NxOs configurations, not plug in others. The organization is moving to Wifi 7 so exposure there is helpful. Currently utilizing Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with ISE is a bonus ability to look into the logs and understand what is going on. Duke moved away from F5 load balancers and now has NetScaler currently.
This team is responsible for majority of project-based work. The Director is looking for somebody who can run autonomously with a project - the architecture team will select technologies and pass the plans along for execution. Day to day will be supporting the network infrastructure and WAN connectivity of the hospital and the nearby clinics. Work ma look like supporting new installs, repair / replace of existing equipment, circuit troubleshooting, working escalated tickets, onsite wired and wireless troubleshooting with customers, supporting network maintenance efforts after hours, supporting new projects as needed.
They have plans to continue build out their hybrid cloud environment, enhance their ACI/automation strategy and be innovative to provide the best patient care possible.

This role will sit onsite at Lake Norman Hospital in Charlotte 4 days a week with 1 remote day. On call is required every other week. Must live within 1 hour of the hospital to have the ability to go onsite if needed to resolve issue. They have a 24/7 core operations team that handle incidents overnight, the team has CCNP level engineers so times this person will be woken up are rare.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
Benefits: 403b contribution is fantastic (8.9% of your first $69,400 and 13.2% of your remaining salary). The client will put this in your account whether you contribute or not!
