The NOC Technician II monitors, troubleshoots, and supports optical transport and video networks in a 24/7 operations environment. The role is approximately 70% optical network support and 30% video network support, with responsibility for Wave services, DWDM infrastructure, media feeds, alarm response, incident handling, and field dispatch coordination. This position helps align optical and video operations while protecting service availability for time-sensitive financial and broadcast customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor optical transport networks and video networks for health, alarms, service interruptions, and other operational conditions.
- Verify the severity and impact of alarms or network conditions and respond according to established operating procedures.
- Create, update, and manage cases associated with network incidents, service interruptions, environmental alarms, access requests, and field activities.
- Arrange critical spare equipment and dispatch field engineers when required to restore service.
- Monitor doors, AC power, generators, DC power, HVAC systems, and facility temperatures at POP and ILA locations.
- Escalate critical environmental conditions to the appropriate infrastructure support team.
- Verify and approve or disapprove access to network locations based on previous case notes and established access procedures.
- Provide remote access authorization and respond to notifications from security monitoring services.
- Process emergency and short-notice locate requests, notify available field engineers, create cases, and assign resources immediately.
- Investigate customer-generated cases involving dark fiber, lit services, optical transport services, and network terminal units.
- Provide public outage comments within 60 minutes and communicate clear, accurate service updates throughout the incident lifecycle.
- Support the repair and delivery of 1G, 10G, and 100G optical services and 1G and 10G video services.
- Monitor video network elements, feeds, and scheduled media bookings for proper activation, operation, and teardown.
- Investigate feeds or bookings that fail to initiate, build, operate, or tear down at their scheduled times.
- Respond immediately to video service notifications received by telephone, email, or case-management systems.
- Create dispatch work orders from active cases when required.
- Coordinate service-impacting work after trading hours or during weekends when necessary.
- Read and interpret circuit designs and network designs to support troubleshooting and service restoration.
- Communicate clearly with customers, engineers, infrastructure teams, and other operational stakeholders.
- Help align optical networking and video networking teams, processes, and incident-response activities.
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts, three days one week and four days the following week.
- Adjust scheduled coverage when team members are absent or on vacation to support continuous 24/7 operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- This tech will need to have extensive knowledge of Wave, as well as some experience with media platforms such as Nimbra Vision.
- General NCC and or field operations.
- 1G-10G-100G services repair and or delivery.
- DWDM networks supporting EDFA, RAMAN and ROADM.
- Fiber, OSP, ISP, OTDR.
- Type II providers.
- Reading and understanding circuit and network designs.
- General NCC and or field operations.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $20 - $30 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
