Data Center Manager
TEKsystems is seeking a skilled Data Center Manager to lead operations at a rapidly expanding data center facility in Afron, TX. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels at developing technical teams, maintaining high-availability environments, and driving operational excellence at scale.
Job Description

• Lead and manage a team of Data Center Technicians in daily operations.
• Oversee server maintenance, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and workflow execution.
• Develop and implement best practices to maximize uptime, efficiency, and operational consistency.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support deployments and client-driven initiatives.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of data center equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
• Respond to technical issues and emergencies with urgency, minimizing downtime.
• Train, mentor, and upskill junior technicians to strengthen team capability.
• Partner with leadership to execute strategic initiatives that enhance scalability and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations.
• 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure: servers, networking equipment, cooling systems.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
• Experience with data center management tools and monitoring platforms.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Excellent communication, organization, and team-leadership abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated locations (with reasonable accommodations).
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call rotations and after-hours support.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize in fast-moving environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Networking experience (routing, switching, cabling, diagnostics).
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field - or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Server+ or Network+.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Afton, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
