Role Overview

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale the backend infrastructure that powers our AI-driven voice technology. You'll be designing performant APIs, architecting microservices, and collaborating across teams to integrate with machine learning and voice systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, low-latency backend systems for AI-powered voice applications.
  • Build robust REST/gRPC APIs and microservices using modern backend frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML, speech, and telephony technologies.
  • Ensure high system reliability through automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to infrastructure planning, deployment, and optimization across cloud platforms.
  • Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and architecture decisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed backend systems.
  • Knowledge of system design, event-driven/asynchronous architectures, and queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, monitoring systems, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, product-focused environment.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
  • Familiarity with voice or LLM-powered systems (e.g., STT, TTS, WebRTC, Twilio, LiveKit).
  • Experience in ML pipeline orchestration or inference workflows.
  • Proficiency in containerization, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Previous collaboration with ML engineers on deployment, monitoring, or observability.
