Summary

Job Role: Azure DevOps Consultant

Location: Northville, MI

Duration: Long-term

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Release Engineering (Primary Focus)

Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for Fabric:

Git branching (feature → dev → test → prod)
PR approvals and automated validations
Deployment pipelines across environments

Standardize:

Environment parameterization (no hardcoding)
Secret management (Key Vault)
Service principal–based deployments
Fabric REST API automation

Define and enforce:

Release management process (calendar, approvals, evidence)
Rollback and re-deployment strategies

DataOps & Orchestration

Build centralized orchestration and run-management framework:

Job scheduling (native or enterprise scheduler)
Dependency handling, retries, backfills
Restartability without code changes

Implement:

Monitoring, logging, and execution tracking
Failure taxonomy and runbooks
On-call and escalation procedures

Fabric Workloads Enablement

Operationalize CI/CD for:

Lakehouse, Warehouse
Fabric Pipelines
Semantic Models (Direct Lake / Import)
OneLake shortcuts

Support pilot workload deployment end-to-end

Production Readiness & Operations

Establish:

RTO/RPO and recovery strategies
Deployment and audit evidence tracking
Performance SLAs and monitoring

Ensure:

Secure deployments (RBAC, separation of duties)
Data quality validation gates

Monitoring & Support

Implement alerting for:

Pipeline failures
Data quality issues
Data freshness SLAs

Define operational SOPs:

Incident management
Rerun/backfill procedures
Daily run monitoring

Documentation & Enablement

Create:

CI/CD runbooks
Orchestration runbooks
SOPs for DataOps teams

Conduct training and knowledge transfer
