Our client is seeking a Senior Data Quality Assurance Analyst

  • Building a consolidated Enterprise Data Platform (AWS & Snowflake).
  • Migrating legacy applications (SAS, databases) to modern platforms.
  • Supporting epidemiologists, researchers, and public health officials with accurate, timely, and consistent data.

The role ensures data integrity across public health systems, collaborating with epidemiologists, program staff, analytics teams, and developers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring procedures.
  • Create test plans defining scope, strategies, and evaluation criteria.
  • Develop test cases for:
    • Data quality validation against compliance and business rules.
    • Visualization dashboards (complex calculations, ETL, usability).
  • Implement Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) quality checks.
  • Monitor data quality dimensions: accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity.
  • Identify, document, and resolve data quality issues affecting public health datasets.
  • Establish processes to monitor technical integrity of data pipelines.
  • Partner with epidemiologists, managers, and developers to assess impact of data quality issues.
  • Validate data ingestion from staging to analytics availability.
  • Execute test cases, document findings, and provide actionable insights.
  • Support development of data dictionaries, metadata, and business rules.
  • Participate in governance activities: data access controls, lineage, and standardization.
  • Support system enhancements, onboarding new data sources, and policy-driven changes.


Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Experience with public health data systems (surveillance, immunization registries, ELR, syndromic surveillance, vital records).
  • Familiarity with state data standards (HL7).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, state privacy laws, and data use agreements.
  • Experience with analytic tools: R, Python, SAS.
  • Experience with reporting/visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, AWS Quicksight.
  • Experience in defining and maintaining end-to-end data platform requirements.
  • Knowledge of data warehouses and cloud-based enterprise data solutions.
  • Cloud database experience (Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
  • Intermediate or better SQL skills.
  • Working knowledge of at least one BI tool (e.g., Tableau).


Preferred Experience/Skills
  • Public Health experience.
  • AWS experience.
  • Snowflake certification.
  • Tableau or other BI tool certification.
