Position Summary

The Project Manager, Gas Refining, is responsible for leading capital, maintenance, optimization, and process improvement projects across TRNG's renewable natural gas (RNG) upgrading and compression Landfill facilities. This role manages projects from concept development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in gas processing, midstream operations, petrochemical systems, or industrial energy environments. This position requires a hands - on leader capable of coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors, and ensuring all projects meet safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple RNG processing and gas upgrading projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate activities across operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage capital improvement projects involving upgrading systems, compression equipment, piping modifications, utility systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental regulations, and TRNG safety standards.
  • Track project progress, cost performance, resource allocation, and schedule adherence.
  • Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and executive-level reporting.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, operational impacts, and construction challenges.
  • Support facility shutdowns, commissioning activities, and expansion projects.
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Maintain project documentation, change management processes, and turnover packages.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and production performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in gas refining, natural gas processing, petrochemical, oil and gas, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects ranging from $500K to $20M+.
  • Knowledge of refinery operations, process systems, piping, mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with project scheduling and cost management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments and travel to project sites as required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with refinery or midstream turnarounds and major maintenance events.
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM requirements and environmental compliance standards.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and construction management teams.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP, or similar systems.


Requirements

  • Up to 40% of travel to field and corporate locations is required.

  • This position is based in a regional in McKinney, Tx office with travel to field sites in Texas & Arkansas as needed.
