Title: Program Manager - WAN Modernization
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: On Site 3 days a week @ Manhattan, NY
Role Summary
The Contract Program Manager will provide hands-on delivery support for a multi-year global WAN and DMZ modernization initiative. This role is execution-focused and designed to augment the core program execution team during critical planning, build, and deployment phases.
The contractor will be responsible for day-to-day program coordination, dependency tracking, and governance support across assigned workstreams, working under the direction of senior program leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Execution Support
- Drive execution of assigned workstreams, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and dependencies are actively tracked and managed.
- Maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and execution trackers in Jira, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Support planning and execution for phased global deployments, including early DMZ refresh and WAN migration activities.
Governance, Reporting & Cadence
- Produce weekly and monthly status reports, RAID logs, and executive-ready summaries.
- Support program governance routines including working group meetings, deployment readiness reviews, and risk discussions.
- Ensure program data is accurate, current, and consistently reflected across reporting artifacts.
Cross-Team Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, Security, Procurement, and regional delivery teams to ensure alignment.
- Track vendor deliverables and dependencies across hardware, logistics, colocation readiness, and implementation partners.
- Facilitate working sessions and follow-ups to drive closure on open actions and decisions.
Risk & Dependency Management
- Identify execution risks, site readiness constraints, and schedule conflicts early.
- Document mitigation plans and escalate issues with clear impact statements and options.
- Prepare change control records that correspond to key migration periods.
- Support lessons-learned capture to improve subsequent deployment waves.
Required Experience & Skills
- 6 10+ years of experience supporting large-scale technology or infrastructure programs as a program or senior project manager.
- Strong hands-on experience with program execution disciplines: scheduling, dependency management, RAID, and status reporting.
- Proven ability to operate in complex, matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
- Comfortable translating technical delivery updates into clear, concise program-level reporting.
- Strong proficiency with Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience supporting network, WAN, data center, or infrastructure modernization programs.
- Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
Familiarity with phased global deployments, parallel-run migrations, or hardware refresh programs
