Role Overview
The AI Solutions Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-enabled products and solutions. This role translates business needs into scalable, production-ready capabilities. As a member of the Technology Innovation Office, you will partner with various technology teams to identify high-value opportunities, apply AI technologies, and integrate capabilities into enterprise platforms and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders and innovation teams to identify and prioritize high-value AI and automation opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and delivery roadmaps.
- Design, build, and deploy production-grade Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions.
- Architect and implement end-to-end AI pipelines, including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, and MLOps.
- Collaborate with technology teams to embed AI models into automated workflows with reliability and control.
- Provide technical leadership in defining AI product vision, MVPs, and backlogs.
- Guide the adoption of cloud and PaaS platforms to deliver AI and data solutions.
- Implement responsible AI practices, including explainability, bias testing, and ongoing model monitoring.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and professional work experience will be considered. An advanced degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience across data science, software engineering, and/or solutions architecture is necessary, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML delivery. This includes a proven ability to lead proofs of concept and transition solutions into production.
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience building AI and ML solutions using Python and modern ML frameworks is required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience operationalizing AI solutions, designing GenAI and LLM-based solutions, and a solid foundation in data engineering and analytics (SQL, data modeling). A working knowledge of modern software engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, testing) and experience with major cloud platforms are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in insurance, InsurTech, or other highly-regulated financial services.
- Knowledge of API-based and event-driven architectures, containerization, and orchestration for scalable AI services.
