They need someone with high level of 508 compliance. Get them where they need to be. Need to work with dev team, support them, and train them on 508. "How do we do selenium scripts so that we can catch the compliance issues before going out?" If this person turns out to be a great developer, they can be converted to full time. Right now they need this immediate fix and train staff.

508 libraries lie within selenium.
Need someone who can code solution if needed. Doesn't care which dev language this person has.
Jaws is really what they want. For accessibility. Axe or Amp is fine too.

Day to Day: A typical day would be conducting 508 and WCAG audits of BCBSSC developed websites, supporting the development of automation scripts, collaborating on any development needed to the Engine to automate the testing process, identifying any automation deficiencies or features that cannot be automated and collaborating with the Validation Services manual test team to ensure maximum test coverage and supporting the identification of compliance bugs and retesting of fixes.
The Team: Automation Development and Performance Testing (ADAPT) the development arm of our Validation Services department.
The ADAPT team (8 developers, 2 process experts, 1 Team Lead) has built a custom Java-based tool (Selenium-Engine) on top of Selenium that provides a single, flexible solution for testing web applications. It is implemented as a Keyword Driven Framework, meaning it provides a list of Operations (or keywords) that behind the scenes are converted into Selenium commands to perform the desired task. For example, a simple CLICK operation to click a button on a web page results in the Engine performing the necessary logic to perform the click. The Engine currently provides over 400 operations to perform essentially any test sequence.
Our team supports multiple ongoing projects that create new or update regression test automation scripts for the Selenium-Engine as well as other test tools, and the development of new test automation solutions. We provide load and performance testing support to projects and infrastructure teams. We are currently scaling a Synthetic Test Data generator we built to support our IT and customer testing teams.
