THE ROLE:

We are seeking an engineer to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, and employ critical thinking are well-suited for our team.

THE PERSON:

AMD's CG is seeking a Senior Sensor Architect to lead the end-to-end sensor architecture for AMD Client PC platforms. This role is responsible for defining and evolving sensor solutions across hardware, firmware, and software, with a strong focus on power efficiency, scalability, and enabling differentiated user experiences on AMD-based PCs.

This architect will play a forward-looking role, inventing and driving new sensor frameworks, influencing the broader PC ecosystem and industry adoption, and aligning sensor architectures with AMD's long-term client platform and AI PC roadmaps.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Defining the next-gen sensor architecture in Client spanning silicon hardware, firmware, OS drivers and applications
  • Architect solutions including but not limited to ALS, proxities, camera, microphones, biometrics and more context aware sensing.
  • Drive Power-first sensor architecture designs enabling always-on and low power sensing use cases by defining key power states, duty cycles, wake mechanisms
  • Optimize key low power state metrics while delivering competitve key UX
  • Drive a scalable FW/SW framework across various SKUs and generations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in PC sensor interfaces, power optimization and architecture
  • Exposure to systems, SOC and sensor architecture
  • Experience with FW and SW sensor frameworks
  • Power analysis and optimization

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
