This is a hands-on, project-focused role for an engineer with strong design fundamentals who can translate business requirements into scalable, resilient network architecture. You will lead end-to-end network builds, drive SD-WAN migrations, execute wireless deployments, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient infrastructure across new and existing hospital locations. You will drive multiple concurrent projects with focused technical ownership of each.

Responsibilities

Network Design and Deployment Lead network engineering efforts for new site construction, buildouts, and technology refresh projects
- Co-author network designs in partnership with Ethos lead network architects, ensuring scalable and resilient solutions
- Own pre-design, planning, and implementation work from requirements through handoff to operations
- Install, configure, and validate networking equipment across LAN, WAN, wireless, and firewall platforms

SD-WAN, LAN and Wireless Plan and execute VMware SD-WAN (VeloCloud) migrations and upgrades across hospital sites
- Design and deploy campus and access-layer switching infrastructure (Meraki MS, Aruba CX) including VLAN design, spanning tree, and port security
- Deploy and optimize enterprise wireless environments using Cisco Meraki and/or Aruba platforms
- Troubleshoot and tune RF performance, SSID design, and wireless client connectivity issues

Security & VPN Configure and manage next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto Networks) including policy, NAT, and threat prevention
- Implement and support Prisma Access for SASE/remote access use cases
- Configure and manage network access control (NAC) solutions including Aruba ClearPass and Cisco ISE for 802.1X, device profiling, and policy enforcement
- Deploy and maintain VPN connectivity including GlobalProtect remote access and site-to-site IPsec tunnels using Velocloud Gateways

Technical Project Ownership Drive concurrent network projects end-to-end, serving as the technical owner for each engagement
- Collaborate with project managers, field services, server, network operations, clinical applications, and other Ethos teams
- Provide accurate, meaningful status updates on project milestones, change control requests, and operational issues

Documentation & Standards Create and maintain technical documentation including network design diagrams, operational procedures, and standards documentation
- Support implementations tied to clinical and operational systems such as VoIP, clinical applications (ezyVet), and biomedical devices (DICOM protocol)
- Clearly explain design decisions (e.g., switch stacking, redundancy, scalability) to audiences of varying technical depth

Education, License and Job Requirements:
- Technical Skills SD-WAN: Deployment, migration, and troubleshooting - Arista SD-WAN (VeloCloud) preferred
- Switching and Wireless: Cisco Meraki and Aruba (AOS / CX) design, deployment, and RF optimization
- Next-Gen Firewall: Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS 11.x) and Prisma Access policy, NAT, threat prevention, SASE
- VPN: GlobalProtect remote access and site-to-site IPsec VPN configuration and troubleshooting
- Routing and Switching: Strong foundation in BGP, redistribution, VLAN design, spanning tree, LACP
-NAC: Aruba ClearPass and Cisco ISE, 802.1X, device profiling, and posture assessment
- Troubleshooting: Deep understanding of OSI model layers, packet capture analysis, bandwidth utilization, and application-layer debugging

Certifications Required: CCNP (Enterprise, Security, or equivalent) or higher
Preferred: PCNSA/E (Palo Alto), ACSP/ACMP (Aruba), VeloCloud certifications

Skills and Experience:
Experience 5+ years of progressive network engineering experience with hands-on implementation background
Minimum 3 years in a senior or lead network engineering role with demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-site WAN/LAN design and deployment
Experience designing networks for healthcare, hospitality, or similarly complex distributed environments
Proven ability to manage technical workstreams across multiple concurrent projects

Professional Competencies Ability to clearly articulate design rationale and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong documentation, organizational, and technical coordination skills
Self-directed with the ability to work independently across remote and on-site environments
Collaborative mindset with experience working across IT disciplines (server, security, clinical apps, field services

Preferred Qualifications Exposure to SASE and Zero Trust architecture principles
Strong Visio or equivalent network diagramming skills
Basic familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, API integrations)
Experience supporting clinical or biomedical device networks
