Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in either Smithfield, RI

Our client seeks a Senior Data Engineer to evolve data-centric capabilities for a defined contribution recordkeeping platform. The role requires strong data engineering, cloud, and development skills with emphasis on Azure, ETL, and Oracle PL/SQL. You will lead define-build-prove cycles, mentor associates, and collaborate with architects and operational leads to deliver a resilient data platform.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $65.00 to $75.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Lead define, build, and prove cycles for data platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with architects, cloud engineers, and operational leads to deliver a resilient data platform for defined contribution recordkeeping.
  • Mentor and coach data engineering associates.
  • Design and implement data pipelines and ETL solutions.
  • Contribute to large, complex system design and stability with resiliency principles.

Experience Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in data and cloud engineering.
  • Strong Oracle PL/SQL with ability to write complex SQL queries.
  • Hands-on SQL performance optimization and tuning.
  • Public cloud expertise, Azure preferred.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • ETL strategy, design, and development experience.
  • Resiliency and stability design principles, including SRE.
  • Familiarity with large complex system design.
  • Familiarity with distributed application development using Java, .NET, or Python (preferred).
  • Shell scripting experience.
  • Linux environment experience.
  • Financial services experience (preferred)

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Azure certification (preferred).
