Contract to hire Windows Desktop Engineer
Rate: open
Location: Oakland, CA
Hybrid flexible: some onsite days required along with minimal travel
Duration: 6-12 months, contract to hire

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune
- 2+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- 2+ years of hands-on desktop support experience in a customer-facing environment
- Windows operating system, hardware troubleshooting, and common business applications
- Mobile device management
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage devices using Microsoft Intune (Windows and mobile platforms)
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues both remotely and onsite
- Respond to customer inquiries with a positive, solutions-oriented approach
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and device configurations in our ticketing system
- Perform monthly patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.
- Automate routine tasks and system administration using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with onsite analysts and external vendor support teams to resolve complex technical issues related to specialized software products
- Serve as an intermediary technical resource, learning the vendor software product to bridge communication between end users and vendor technical support
- Participate in device lifecycle management, including imaging, deployment, and decommissioning
