Role/Title: Workplace Systems Engineer

Mandatory Qualification:
Seeking a motivated and versatile Systems Engineer / Desktop Support Technician for a contract-to-hire position. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with strong Microsoft Intune and endpoint management experience, combined with hands-on desktop support skills. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing desktop environments, delivering hands-on and remote support to users, and ensuring seamless operation of both physical devices and cloud-based services. You will also provide customer-focused technical assistance and collaborate across functions to drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to expand their technical abilities, including intermediary support for a key vendor software product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and manage devices using Microsoft Intune (Windows and mobile platforms)
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues both remotely and onsite
- Respond to customer inquiries with a positive, solutions-oriented approach
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and device configurations in our ticketing system
- Perform monthly patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.
- Automate routine tasks and system administration using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with onsite analysts and external vendor support teams to resolve complex technical issues related to specialized software products
- Serve as an intermediary technical resource, learning the vendor software product to bridge communication between end users and vendor technical support
- Participate in device lifecycle management, including imaging, deployment, and decommissioning
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and knowledge base development
Skills/Experience:
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune or similar device management platforms
- 2+ years of hands-on desktop support experience in a customer-facing environment
- Solid understanding of Windows operating system, hardware troubleshooting, and common business applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability and motivation to quickly learn new vendor-specific software and provide intermediary support
- Experience with mobile device management is a plus
- Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, etc.) is a plus
- Startup experience or demonstrated adaptability in fast-changing environments preferred
