Position Overview:
We are seeking an analytical and deeply experienced Senior Network Engineer to spearhead our Network Resiliency and Cloud Connectivity Assessment initiatives. In this role, you will act as an internal auditor and architectural strategist. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously evaluate our global network estate—including hybrid cloud edges, data centers, and wide-area networks—to identify single points of failure, security gaps, and performance bottlenecks. You will define the assessment scope, execute technical audits, and deliver actionable, risk-prioritized remediation roadmaps to ensure our multi-cloud infrastructure meets strict business continuity standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment Scoping & Architectural Auditing
· Define the technical scope, methodology, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for comprehensive network resiliency and cloud connectivity audits.
· Evaluate existing hybrid cloud architectures (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Platform Interconnect) against industry best practices for high availability and low latency.
· Map and analyze end-to-end traffic flows between on-premises infrastructure and multi-cloud environments to identify hidden dependencies and single points of failure (SPOFs).
Resiliency & Failover Validation
· Audit routing health across the enterprise, focusing on BGP convergence, asymmetrical routing risks, and the effectiveness of Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD).
· Assess disaster recovery (DR) preparedness by evaluating Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), Anycast routing, and automated cloud failover mechanisms.
· Coordinate and oversee controlled stress-testing and failure simulations (Chaos Engineering) to verify that backup paths activate seamlessly without dropping critical application traffic.
Risk Reporting & Strategic Remediation
· Document detailed technical assessment reports translating complex networking vulnerabilities into prioritized risk registers for executive leadership.
· Collaborate with Cloud Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams to design optimized, self-healing network blueprints.
· Provide clear, cost-benefit remediation plans that balance performance optimization, risk reduction, and cloud egress cost efficiency.
Experience & Education
· Experience: 7+ years in enterprise network engineering, with at least 3+ years in an architectural assessment, consulting, or senior audit role focusing on multi-cloud landscapes.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Certifications
· Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE - Enterprise or Data Center).
· AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.
· TOGAF or comparable Enterprise Architecture framework familiarity is a significant plus.
