Duration: Contract - 11 months. Potential contract-to-hire.

Schedule: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

Job Description

We are seeking an Application Architect III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Core Java, Kafka, and Red Hat OpenShift and a proven ability to design cloud-native, high-throughput, low-latency microservices with zero downtime and zero data loss.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain, and test software applications supporting business units and functions.


• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex applications using modern technologies.


• Provide technical direction and system architecture for initiatives and special projects.


• Serve as a seasoned technical resource, leading projects and guiding team activities without direct reports.


• Collaborate with business partners and enterprise architects to define architecture and design.


• Provide design oversight to development teams and mentor technical leads.


• Define high-level designs, architecture roadmaps, technology adoption guidelines, and standards.


• Coordinate with external programmers to support delivery of software applications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Core Java and microservices design for high throughput, low latency, zero downtime, and zero data loss.


• Hands-on experience with Kafka for event-driven architectures.


• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift for container orchestration and deployment strategies.


• Cloud-native design and Domain-Driven Design principles.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide technical direction.


• 7-9 years of relevant experience in application development and architecture.

Preferred Skills:

• 15+ years of solution architecture experience.


• Exposure to modern stacks including cloud, OpenShift, Kafka, MongoDB or CockroachDB.


• UML for modeling and design documentation.

Top Skills:

• Architecting microservices for high throughput, low latency, zero downtime, and zero data loss.


• Cloud-native design and Domain-Driven Design.


• Container design and deployment strategies.
