Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking a proficient Application Architect to develop, enhance, and support software applications for our business units. This role involves working with diverse development platforms and new technologies to design and implement complex application solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical direction, serve as a seasoned technical resource, and work with minimal supervision while contributing to key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain, and test software applications.
• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex applications.
• Provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
• Lead projects and direct team activities related to special initiatives or operations.
• Collaborate with business partners and enterprise architects to define architecture and design.
• Work with development teams to provide design oversight and mentor technical leads.
• Define high-level designs, architecture roadmaps, and technology adoption standards.
• Architect solutions for high throughput, low latency, zero downtime, and zero data loss using a microservices architecture.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 7-9 years of relevant experience in software application development and architecture.

Technical Skills:

• Core Java
• Kafka
• RedHat OpenShift
• Cloud-native design and Domain-Driven Design
• Container design and deployment strategies

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Solution Architecture.
• Experience with a modern tech stack, including cloud, OpenShift, Kafka, and Mongo DB or Cockroach DB.
• Proficiency in UML.

Work Environment

This position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite. This is a potential contract-to-hire opportunity. Candidates must be able to work without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
