Summary

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern, scalable web applications with a strong emphasis on data visualization and user-centric design. This role spans front-end development, back-end services, data integration, and analytics, working across the full software development lifecycle from concept through production.
Under the direction of the Head of Data Analytics & Architecture, this individual will partner closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver intuitive applications and meaningful insights through modern visual analytics.

Key Responsibilities

50% Full Stack Software Development (React / .NET Focus)

  • Design and develop responsive, interactive front-end applications using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Build and maintain back-end services, APIs, and integrations using ASP.NET and related technologies.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs and manage secure data exchanges across systems.
  • Architect scalable, performant, and secure application solutions following modern best practices.
  • Own end-to-end delivery: development, testing, debugging, deployment, and post-launch support.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, business partners, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into usable features.
  • Partner with infrastructure and operations teams to improve performance, scalability, and reliability of internal systems.

20% Data Visualization & Analytics (Critical Skill Area)

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions that drive decision-making.
  • Develop rich, interactive data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, and/or custom React-based visualization components.
  • Apply visualization best practices and UX principles to present complex data clearly and effectively.
  • Translate business and analytical requirements into actionable visual stories.
  • Perform data validation, analysis, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.

15% Data Engineering, AI & Automation

  • Design and implement data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric or similar tools.
  • Build ingestion pipelines from APIs, databases, and external data sources.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models and AI-enabled data agents using notebook-based environments.
  • Integrate structured enterprise data with external and web-based data sources to support advanced analytics.
  • Utilize data analysis to surface insights and optimization opportunities.

10% Security & Platform Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure applications adhere to secure coding standards and organizational policies.
  • Support authentication, authorization, identity management, and secure API integrations.

5% Additional Responsibilities

  • Stay current with emerging technologies in application development, analytics, cloud platforms, AI, and security.
  • Document system architectures, data flows, configurations, and operational processes.
  • Participate in training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support evolving business and technology needs as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript front-end development.
  • Strong back-end experience with ASP.NET (C#) and API development.
  • Proven experience delivering data-driven applications with meaningful visualizations.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or embedded web-based visualization tools.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server), including schema design and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control.
  • Experience building and supporting end-to-end applications in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of data engineering, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and analytics workflows.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
