Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Messaging & Middleware Engineer with strong expertise in FIX Protocol, SWIFT messaging platforms, and enterprise middleware technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting critical financial messaging infrastructure across Linux, OpenShift/Kubernetes, cloud, and appliance-based environments.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with FIX and SWIFT platforms, financial messaging standards, middleware integration, automation, platform modernization, and production support within banking and financial services environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, deploy, and support enterprise FIX and SWIFT messaging platforms.

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SWIFT infrastructure components and financial messaging services.

  • Manage FIX connectivity, message routing, session management, and communication workflows.

  • Support SWIFT messaging services, including FIN, FINPlus, InterAct, and FileAct.

  • Implement and maintain financial messaging standards such as ISO 15022 (MT) and ISO 20022 (MX).

  • Configure and maintain middleware integrations across enterprise applications and financial platforms.

  • Support messaging infrastructure across Linux, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud environments.

  • Develop automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages.

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform deployment and modernization.

  • Implement security controls, encryption, authentication, and compliance requirements.

  • Lead platform modernization, high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery initiatives.

  • Perform root cause analysis, incident management, and problem resolution.

  • Develop engineering standards, architecture documentation, and operational procedures.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and cloud engineering teams.


Mandatory Technical Skills

1. FIX Protocol & Financial Messaging

  • Strong experience with FIX Protocol and financial messaging platforms.

  • Broadridge Appia.

  • QuickFIX.

  • FIX connectivity, session management, and message routing.

  • Experience supporting financial market messaging infrastructure.


2. SWIFT Messaging & Infrastructure

  • SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA).

  • SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG).

  • SWIFT FIN / FINPlus.

  • SWIFT InterAct and FileAct.

  • ISO 15022 (MT) and ISO 20022 (MX) messaging standards.

  • SWIFT infrastructure configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.


3. Middleware & Platform Engineering

  • Enterprise middleware administration and engineering.

  • Linux system administration and troubleshooting.

  • OpenShift and Kubernetes.

  • Docker and containerized application environments.

  • Distributed systems and messaging infrastructure.

  • MQ / Kafka / API integrations.


4. DevOps & Infrastructure Automation

  • AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Ansible automation and configuration management.

  • CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.

  • Shell scripting, Python, or similar scripting languages.

  • Platform deployment, automation, and modernization.


5. Security & Operational Support

  • Financial messaging security and encryption.

  • Secure connectivity and access management.

  • Compliance and operational security controls.

  • High availability and disaster recovery.

  • Incident management and root cause analysis.

  • Production support and performance optimization.


Good-to-Have Skills

  • SWIFT certifications.

  • SWIFT Customer Security Programme (CSP) compliance experience.

  • Experience designing highly available FIX/SWIFT architectures.

  • Banking, capital markets, and financial services experience.

  • IBM MQ and Kafka integration.

  • API-based financial messaging integrations.

  • Cloud transformation and platform modernization initiatives.

  • Experience with appliance-based financial messaging environments.


Experience & Education

  • 8-10 years of experience in middleware, financial messaging, or distributed systems.

  • Strong hands-on experience with FIX Protocol and SWIFT messaging platforms.

  • Experience supporting enterprise financial messaging infrastructure.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
