Role Overview
This role involves the design, development, and review of database changes within our client's organization. As a Database Engineer, you will apply industry-accepted design and development practices to perform all database-related changes, such as database design, normalization, and SQL/PL-SQL programming, using an Agile methodology. A hybrid schedule requires a minimum of three days per week onsite from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and review database changes.
- Perform database design and normalization.
- Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Utilize Agile methodology for project execution.
- Engage in performance tuning, including query optimization and indexing strategies.
- Use tools like AWR, ASH, and Explain Plan for database analysis.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience with Oracle SQL/PL-SQL and MS SQL Server is required.
Technical Skills:- Expert-level proficiency in the latest Oracle Database version.
- Proficiency in TOAD and similar database tools.
- Experience in OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
- Strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Proven experience in Database Design and Data modeling (ER Diagram and Normalization).
- Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, memory structure, and background processes.
- Hands-on experience in performance tuning, including query optimization and indexing strategies.
- Experience with JIRA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the financial domain.
- Knowledge of shell scripting or Python for database task automation.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GIT, and Datical.
- Exposure to MS SQL Server and MongoDB.
- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance standards.
