Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Quality Engineer to support the build, integration, and testing of advanced maritime systems. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring quality across shipyard operations, including hull fabrication, welding, outfitting, electrical integration, and sea trials.
This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering, production, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure all systems meet stringent customer, naval, and industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support quality assurance across shipyard operations including fabrication, welding, outfitting, and integration
Monitor and evaluate manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations
Partner with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues throughout the build lifecycle
Participate in inspections, testing, and validation activities, including sea trials
Ensure adherence to naval, customer, and industry-specific quality standards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and traceability across all quality processes
Collaborate with regulatory bodies and auditors as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field
3 to 5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related role within shipbuilding, defense, or complex manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of shipyard fabrication processes, including welding, hull construction, outfitting, and electrical or electronic integration
Experience working in highly regulated environments with strict quality and compliance requirements
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
